        Hi All

We have just come home from Derby and have completed another trip through the Buccaneer Archipelago in our 5.3m Trailerboat. Some information that may be of interest to anyone visiting this area in the near future.

Optus Phone Reception works good out the front of Dog Leg Creek and Silvergull Creek, we also got coverage at Turtle Reef in Talbot Bay, not far from the Horizontal Falls.

Silvergull Creek no longer operates as it used to. We were told by the guys on the Barge at Dogleg Creek (who would know) that the Aboriginals have taken itĀ Over and you can no longer have a beer in the tank. We also heard that the place is a mess. We tried to call Silvergull on ch16 several times an received no response so we did not go in to the camp. I believe that Water is still available from the standpipe.

All the small Waterfalls in Dugong, Talbot and Strickland Bays are running and well worth the trip in to see.

The Resort on Cockatoo Island is well on the way to re-opening and rumours that a Telstra Mobile Tower may be added to the Island. Look out for this in the future.

Although we cut our time on the water short because of an approaching Low Pressure System we had a great time and will be back again in April next year.

Just to update. We were at the squatters arms (silver gull) in
Late April and there was an irregular care taker there looking after it for the land Council. He welcomed us there (nice guy) and he had just finished cleaning the water tank so the water was Fantastic.

Definitely run down, but they talked about setting
Up some art shop etc (believe when I see it). I doubt it will last unfortunately.
