        Hi All

Just a timely reminder to remain vigilant to the crocodile risk as you traverse the North Kimberley Marine Park.

Regards Sean (East Kimberley District Marine and Island Coordinator)

        AREA: North Kimberley Marine Park

TITLE FOR ALERT: CROCODILE WARNING – North Kimberley Marine Park

There have been additional sightings of estuarine (saltwater) crocodiles in freshwater locations in North Kimberley Marine Park.

DBCA encourages all visitors to Be Crocwise in the Kimberley. Estuarine crocodiles inhabit a wide variety of inland and coastal waterways and water bodies across northern Australia, both fresh and salt water.

Significant wet seasons and flooding events mean that estuarine (saltwater) crocodiles can travel hundreds of kilometres inland and move around to places they haven’t been seen in before. Estuarine crocodiles are deadly ambush predators that can stay hidden for long periods of time.

Your safety is your responsibility, BE CROCWISE!

To report a problem crocodile that is actively presenting a threat to humans, please report details to DBCA Parks and Wildlife Service Kununurra on (08) 9168 4200.
