Hi Ross, Thanks for the great site enjoy to meet up at your place.
We are planing to leave in company from Wyndham around early June then down to Derby around end September this winter 19. Busy getting set up with fuel food and spare parts. Look forward to catching the some of boats as we pass.
Hi,
we will be leaving Two Rocks in mid-April aboard Cosmic Drift , an 11m Schionning sailing cat, headed to Darwin by early July. Stops include Abroholos, Shark Bay, Montebellos, Dampier, Broome, Kimberley’s.
This is our first major adventure. The boat has outboard motors so we too have the problem of finding/carrying enough ULP for the Kimberley section. Hoping that someone may want to do a joint order with us??? Our email is cosmicdrift@outlook.com.au
Cheers
Liz & Mike

Radar sounds the way to go to complement a good set of charts, however I suspect that does not come cheaply!
It all sounds like the next great adventure for us, Sally and I can’t wait to get started, and it is all on our doorstep.
Thanks again for your timely advice, we will keep in touch.
Cheers, Sally and John.
Thanks Ross,
That is welcome advice, what navigation systems would you recommend particularly for the Kimberley Coast?
Hope to see you on the Coast this dry season, the “American Independance Day” party on Berkeley River sounds good!
Cheers,
Sally and John
I’m going to ask parap meats if they’ll label w type meat as hard to quickly tell what’s what. A butcher on East Coast did this & was great. Also to vac seal with minimum plastic around each portion to save space.

I do have a question regarding licencing of skippers, as a Territorian we have no such laws and requirements and I would think that after 17 years skipping town my old SA licence would not be worth the paper it is printed on.
How would the local authorities deal with this? Is there a grace period where a skipper from the NT can operate a boat in WA without a licence or should I get some sort of licence from interstate next time I am passing through. I must admit it does seem strange that I can be in command of a massive vessel with absolutely no training or certification process needed at all. Also, what is the go with blood alcohol content with respect to liveaboard? Is it only applicable when underway or does the skipper need to remain under the legal BAC when on board (that could be a tough gig).
