Hi, I have posted the below email on behalf of Marissa. If you have any info about killer whales in Kimberley waters, please reply to this forum post or contact me through the Contact page https://kccyc.org.au/contact/ and I will pass it on to Marissa.

        Cheers, Ross

My name is Marissa Hutchings and I am a PhD student studying killer whales at Flinders University in Adelaide, South Australia.

One of the aims of my project is to model the spatiotemporal distribution of this species around Australia. I have a great dataset of sightings for my model, but I am always on the look out for more! I am especially interested in those from remote areas such as the Kimberly’s that are difficult to reach and therefore not often covered by dedicated research surveys. Have you or any of your members seen killer whales in this region? If so – I was wondering if you would be interested in providing some information on these sightings for my distribution model? The minimum details needed are date and GPS location. To the exact day is best, but just month is ok. I can also geo-reference from a general location if need be. In addition, any imagery to validate the sighting is a bonus! Would you mind posting this message on your forum to reach more members?

Look forward to hearing back from you!

        Kind regards,
        Marissa.
