Who can join The Kimberley Coast Cruising Yacht Club?

Anyone!!! But there are 2 types of memberships. Normal Members and Kimberley Members. Read on….

Normal Membership.

Anybody can become a Member. If you are just thinking about, or planning to go to the Kimberley on your own private vessel, or as a friend/crew on someone else’s private vessel, you can become a Member. You will be promoted free of charge to a “Kimberley Member” when you get to the Kimberley and are able to fulfill the requirements of becoming a “Kimberley Member”. A promoted “Normal Member” will receive a “Kimberley Member” polo shirt (and burgee if its your boat) free of charge.

What do I get?

  • Quality Polo Shirt with the club insignia embroidered on it. See photo below. Polo Shirt Size Chart
  • Cap with the club insignia embroidered on it.
  • 2 vinyl stickers with the club insignia for your boat and your car.
  • Access to the “Members Only” area of the KCCYC web site, where you will find the contact details of other Members, access to the “Anchorages” page, information on social events, access to our on line forum, photo galleries of past events, news and events page to keep you up to date with any upcoming events or newsworthy club info, and links to Members sailing blogs or websites.

Is there a membership fee?

There is a once off membership fee of AUD$50.00 to help cover the cost of the shirts, caps etc, plus postage AUD$10.00 in Australia, or AUD$20.00 overseas.

How do I join as a “Normal Member”? 

There is a form to complete, then you will be redirected to the PayPal secure payment website where you can pay the once off membership fee with your Visa, MasterCard or PayPal account if you have one.

“Kimberley Member” membership.

Anybody can become a Kimberley Member, provided you have cruised the Kimberley Coast on a private cruising yacht (power or sail). Owners and crew/guests are eligible. Sorry, charter boats are not considered private yachts. Proof is required by way of digital photos of you on board the boat, taken in any iconic location in the Kimberley – Something like the photos below. (If you have been there, you will know what an iconic location is.) The photos you send to us may be included in your members profile photo album. More photos can be added to your profile later.

What do I get?

  • Quality Polo Shirt with the club insignia and your “Kimberley Member” badge of rank embroidered on it. These are unique shirts, and are exclusive to Kimberley Members only. See photo below. Polo Shirt Size Chart
  • Cap with the club insignia embroidered on it.
  • Club Burgee if you are the owner of the vessel in the photo you send us as identification. Only 1 burgee per vessel. Again, the burgee is exclusive to cruising vessels that have genuinely cruised the Kimberley coast.
