        hi all,

        just a quick question, we are looking for a simple sat phone internet connection to get real time up to date weather and wind predictions and we were wondering if anyone has any experience with x gate weather predictions.

        Is it user friendly and effective and has anyone experienced any problems or issues with the hardware or software.

        Or is there some other product that is better and more cost effective?

          Hi Hagen,

          Also check out Iridium Go. I’ve heard good reports on it, and it uses the PredictWind app for marine weather forecasting, which I believe is what XGate also use. PredictWind has a free version of the weather app, which may be OK for coastal cruising where you cant get mobile phone reception for BOM forecasts. Off shore – perhaps the free version may not be suitable.
