Looking for advice from the more experienced among you. I cant find information about the tide direction around the top of Hidden Island. I assume it ebbs east and floods west? If this is true then there must be a tidal split somewhere heading into yampi sound which seems to ebb north west and floods south east? Any advice on these presumptions would be greatly appreciated.
G’day Mark,Crossed King sound waning 6 m Derby tide in November 2020,track was Byron island then Goose channel to Coppermine creek. The Derby tide was ebbing as we approached Byron and the flow assisted our passage to Coppermine.Sorry to be short on detail but i’m a long way from the logbook at the moment, cheers steve
I suspected that would be the case. It means somewhere in Yampi sound there must be a tidal split as the tide ebbs to the NW past Koolan Island and the the NE out of King Sound. Thanks for the Information. Cheers Mark
